Samsung Gear Fit straps
Getting our hands on the first curved screen smartwatch by Samsung, we were pretty excited. After the initial update to the device, the interface gained the smoothness the interface needed, and we found it a pleasure to use in combination with one of our office Galaxy S4 smartphones. It was easy to change music, track steps and use the heart-rate monitor, ad we found both to be reasonably accurate vs. a store-bought pedometer, and manually checking pulse after a jog.
One thing that we found notable is that this watch was very light-weight, and despite this, easily lasted through a day of use at full brightness, with the wake-feature turned on (Samsung claims 3-5 days at medium brightness, but we found daylight readability suffers greatly at 50% brightness setting). With the brilliant high-contrast Super AMOLED screen such a killer feature of this smartwatch, we were loath to turn down the brightness anyway.
The watch has another advantage over other smart watches on the market: The band is fully replaceable, without any electronic components in the band itself. The variety of colours from Samsung may not wow everyone, so we decided to fill in the colour gaps, offering alternative bands for this excellent piece of tech. Did we miss your favourite colour?
