With the great success of our Multiview and Bi-Axis cases, we wanted to see what we could do to make it even better. Through much head-scratching and coffee, we came to the conclusion that our Bi-Axis was a nearly perfect case... except that it was only rotatable one way. That is, the case would lean back into that comfortable reclining portrait position, but flip it upside down, and you're still stuck with that rigid 90 degree angle. The iPad can rotate any direction, so why not add one more axis?
The Tri-Axis was born!
With the new Tri-Axis, we've made a few other changes as well. We re-designed the somewhat bulky stand with a sleek triangular one, which leaves a little airspace under the case when resting closed on a flat table. This space allows easy one-handed pickup of the Tri-Axis case, by sliding fingers intuitively under the spine.
The balanced geometry of the case reacts to fingers by tilting just a little more in the opposite direction, allowing a firm, slide-free grip on the device without having to put down your coffee or tea.
We also developed a runner-groove with stand gutters for added stability, and ease of positioning the Tri-Axis while in landscape orientation.
