We'd like to say a big THANKYOU to all our customers for not only buying our cases, but also sending in your ideas for future designs.  To show our appreciation, we're launching this simple competition.

4G Coming to London
If you live in the London area, crazy fast mobile broadband speeds could soon become common place, as O2 this week announced plans to begin testing 4G connections in the England's capital. The initial trials will run for nine months and will see 25 4G sites created, covering 40 square kilometres. Ideally download speeds as fast as 100Mbps will be possible, with over a thousand Londoners taking part. You can find out more about 3G at Tech Digest

Google Music Service 
This week Google is expected to announce a music store during an event in Los Angeles. Apparently a blogger from TecnoDroidVe discovered the online music store on his HTC, It wasn't working, but included cool features like a "free song of the day" and recommendations for known artists. This is not the 1st time we've heard news of this Google service, earlier this year the New York Times reported that Google was prepping a cloud-based music storage service. We expect to hear more news soon.

Amazon ship the Kindle Fire tablet early 
Ever since we saw the first presentation from Amazon, we've been keen to get our hands on the Kindle Fire, and although the official launch date for the Kindle Fire tablet is Nov. 15, Amazon has said this week that it will be shipping the device early to customers who have placed pre-orders.  Amazon unveiled the Fire in late September. It features a 7-inch, 1024-by-600 touch screen and includes 8GB of storage, plus access to the Amazon cloud. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a dual-core 1-GHz TI OMAP 4 processor and has 512MB of RAM.  You can check them out further at Amazon.

Barnes & Noble launch the next generation Nook 
To take on the Kindle Fire, B&N have launched their latest Nook ready for the Christmas holidays.  Their latest tablet had as a new and improved Dual core 1Ghz processor with a full 1GB RAM.  So far the new Barnes and Noble device will be retailing at $249 making it a compeling offer for the upcoming holidays.  The device is planned to be a similar shape to the existing Nook Colour and offers a 7" colour screen and boasts up to 11 hours of reading, more than enough to help you though your content for a couple of days.  Barnes and Noble are offering "safe and dependable" cloud storage, similar to Amazon's offering. However the new Nook has 16GB internal memory, twice that of the Amazon competitor, as well as being expandable using storage slots up to 32GB.  If you want to learn more you can check out a great round up on ZD Net


Problems for the iPhone 4S 
Apple announced that there is an issue with the iPhone 4S battery, but also confirmed that they have an update scheduled in the next couple of weeks which should negate any problems. This follows iPhone 4S users complaining that Apple's latest device had a tiny battery life. Apple's statement announced "A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices. We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks". For more detail you can read more at CNET.

Android sales going from strength to strength 
A new study, conducted by the Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, concluded nearly 50 per cent of smart phones sold in Britain are Android devices. The iPhone, by comparison, has a much smaller share, only 18.5 per cent of the mobile market, with BlackBerry just beating them at 22.5 per cent. According to the dates those figures won't have taken into account the iPhone 4S, but as we mentioned Android is about to receive a new OS, which solidify these findings. For more detail you can check out CNET.

Round up of Android 4.0 - A.K.A Ice-cream sandwich. 
We're looking forward to hearing more from Google on their latest product, Android 4.0, also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Android has a history of naming new products under the theme of desserts, yummy, you may think, but wait till you see what it has to offer. Last week Google and Samsung announced the new Galaxy Nexus, the 1st smartphone to include the Ice Cream sandwich platform when it will be released in November. Ice Cream Sandwich contains loads of cool new features including; wireless sharing, widget management and a security unlock function which will recognise your face. Apple Celebrate the iPod's 10th Anniversary 
For those of us who remember Walkman’s and Discman’s it may come as a shock that ten years has passed since the launch of the iPod. In 2001 there were a few other Mp3 players available, but the iPod was hailed as the hero which made choosing music simple and cool. At the time even music star Moby was featured in the original promotional video singing its praises. It was actually in 1979 when an inventor called Kane Kramer came up with the first digital audio player, although sadly for him his patent expired in 1988. Years later the iPod would announce itself to the world, since then over 300 million of them have been sold. For more detail you can see Pc Mag's round up.

Steve Jobs declared 'war' on Android 
Since Steve Jobs passed away leaving a massive void within the technology industry there has been several releases from his biography by Walter Isaacson. The latest insight into the legend that is Steve Jobs shows how passionately he viewed his company and its creations. He was quoted saying he wanted to “destroy” the Google Android operating system, claiming much of it was stolen from Apple's iPhone operating system. He was also reported as saying that he would be willing to spend every cent of Apple's $40 billion to right this wrong and that he was not interested in a financial settlement. Apple continues to fight several lawsuits with Google, through Android’s OEM partners. The official Steve Jobs biography is in sale now.

Amazon takes a dip in profits 
Amazon has recently wowed the world by releasing a new series of Kindle devices, including the Kindle 4, Kindle Touch & Kindle Fire. However it would seem that these expensive releases have had a heavy impact on the company. Profits at the online retailer Amazon have dropped 73% after the company invested heavily in the new Kindle range. However despite the investment required to launch these devices, Amazon has been unable to include the sales from these devices. The company said that sales had grown by 44% and that last month, on 28 September, it had its "biggest order day ever for Kindle, even bigger than previous holiday sales". So it would seem that after a small dip Amazon should go from strength to strength, benefitting from the sales of these new models, especially towards the holiday season.
